*My Thoughts*

Okay...So, I finally watched this final installment in this Resident Evil franchise. AND... I am finally going share my thoughts on this "final chapter." I would have to say that I was okay with this. I did enjoy this installment since it seems to have tied up all the previous films to the conclusion of this franchise, basically, Alice's story.

The film begins where Resident Evil: Retribution left off. Guess that "last stand" didn't come out well. Anyways, we find Alice...again...alone in the middle of that wasteland. The Undead..and then some...comes out of the "woodworks." The usual scenario as in the previous films. Of course, Alice is definitely showing signs of "wear and tear"... What do you expect?!? She's always faced with dealing with both the living and the undead...haha! Anyways, as always, we get a little "speech" of what has already transpired. This time, we get more of a "history lesson" of the Umbrella Corportation, the Hive, and the origin of the "red queen." Hmmm... Interesting. It did help tie the storylines and subplots together.

So...Again, we are on the road with Alice, as we follow her back to Racoon City, where it all began. It's the usual scenario, she runs into Umbrella Corporation henchmen, the Undead, and human survivors. Like in the past films, Alice runs into familiar faces... It definitely would make one wonder. Doesn't anyone stay dead in this franchise....hahaha!!! Well, this "final chapter" will enlighten fans to that question. Throughout the film, we get subtle hints as to the "truth" that the Umbrella Corporation has been holding at Racoon City. Moreover, after the usual survival and fighting scenes, we do come to that climactic and compelling conclusion to Alice's journey. Yup! Secrets are revealed... And, in the end, Alice has to make a decision.

All in all, I enjoyed how they ended Alice's "final chapter" of her journey. However, they were misleading in promoting this film. Although this may be the end of Alice's chapter, there seems to be more beyond...the Umbrella Corporation. This just doesn't seem to end...haha! Well, this Resident Evil franchise definitely has potential to spin-off focusing on the other characters that are central to the Resident Evil video games....the franchise is, after all, based on the video games....Right!!??!! Plus, there is news that a reboot is in the works.... Check out the article on Deadline.
