JASMINE's THOUGHTS on Supergirl Season 1 Episode 15 - "Solitude"

About the Show
Supergirl is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El, Superman's (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities, and be the hero she was always meant to be.

Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents' help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret.

Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant. She works alongside her friend and IT technician Winn Schott and famous photgrapher James Olsen, who Grant just hired away from the Daily Planet to serve as her new art director. However, Kara's days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret ageny where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime.

*My Thoughts*

Another intense episode! At first, the episode starts off with a "flashback" of when Kara's pod was trapped in the Phantom Zone and how it got out. Hmmm...that was curious. Anyways, Kara will come to learn Indigo's connection to her past. Interesting... Not only that, we find out that Non and Indigo had a past as well.... What more will we find out from the prisoners of Fort Rozz?!?

Kara and friends face an alien adversary they have no information on. In order to face off with this cyber enemy, they need information. And...that's just what Supergirl finds at the Fortress of Solitude. While everyone clamors to fend off this cyber threat against their home, everyone is also dealing with their own personal dilemmas.

We learn more about Siobhan. Is there an attraction developing between Siobhan and Winn? Hmmm... There is a lot more to Siobhan than what she's letting on. Alex and Hank's secret is eating away at Alex's conscience, especially since Kara continues to despise Hank. James and Kara's friendship seems to be crossing that line to something more intimate. James and Lucy's relationship has come to an impasse. Lucy comes to a realization about James and Kara. What does that mean...in the end?!? Oh the drama...lol!

Will Supergirl save the city on her own...or will she save the city with all her friends at her side? In the end, the city is saved. Supergirl also realizes that she may be able to many things, but more can be accomplished with help, not alone. Kara also finds out the truth about the death of Astra.

However, there is so much more underlying all the events that happened in this episode. All these episodes is definitely setting up for something big...but "what" is the question. We have a lot to look forward to in the next episode(s).

But, we can't forget the emotional turmoil that secrets and lie can cause. We found that out when Alex came out with the truth. Unconventional as it is...Kara, Alex, Hank, Winn, even James are family.

Until the next episode!
