JASMINE's THOUGHTS on Supergirl Season 1 Episode 12 - "Bizarro"

About the Show
Supergirl is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El, Superman's (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities, and be the hero she was always meant to be.

Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents' help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret.

Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant. She works alongside her friend and IT technician Winn Schott and famous photgrapher James Olsen, who Grant just hired away from the Daily Planet to serve as her new art director. However, Kara's days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret ageny where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime.

Episode 11 - "Strange Visitor From Another Planet"
 Synopsis:
Kara faces off against her mirror image when Bizarro (Hope Lauren), a twisted version of Supergirl, sets out to destroy her. Also, Kara grows closer with Cat's son, Adam (Blake Jenner).

~~~
*My Thoughts*
Well, we finally see what Maxwell Lord was "cooking" in his lab...Yup! A mirror image of Supergirl, labeled Bizarro. Well, Mr. Lord's intentions become more obvious with every attempt to destroy Supergirl. Although he believes he's trying to save humanity, it definitely is a twisted version of it. Anyways, Supergirl has had a couple of encounter with Bizarro, and it's not good. On the other hand, Kara goes on a couple of dates with Adam, but gets cut short due to these encounters with Bizarro. Moreover, since Adam's appearance in National City, Cat Grant's "ice queen" attitude seemed to have melted some, especially since Adam asked Kara out on a date.
Awww....Kara ended a possible relationship with Adam!?! Looks like Kara is feeling overwhelmed with everything that's happening. That was a heartbreaking moment. Oh, c'mon! Now, what will that do to Kara and Cat's relationship!?! Looks like it's not going to be good. And, we thought Cat's heart warmed up to Kara...that didn't last long...haha!
Kara and Alex learn more about Bizarro as they try to subdue her. They soon learn that Bizarro is the complete opposite of Supergirl; hence, the "mirror image" term. However, Bizarro seems to be like a "little girl" learning. With each encounter, Bizarro has questioned Mr. Lord about her questions on Supergirl. Of course, he twists it into something evil, further adding to Bizarro's hate for Supergirl. Because Mr. Lord twists the truth to Bizarro, she's angered and kidnaps James. James is admitting, to Bizarro, his feelings for Kara/Supergirl...hmmm.
In the end, Bizarro's humanity comes out. Supergirl stands by her and comforts her at the DEO. She is, afterall, the mirror image of Supergirl in every way, including her heart. Meanwhile, Maxwell Lord is detained at the DEO. He reveals to the Danvers sisters of the secrets he knows of them. How long will they be able to hold him?!? Hmmm... For sure, Maxwell Lord is plotting something. We will have to see in future episodes...won't we!?!
Again, another episode that had action, drama, and an emotional theme to it. It can definitely bring on the tears.
Until the next episode!
