JASMINE's THOUGHTS on Supergirl Season 1 Episode 10 - "Childish Things"

About the Show
Supergirl is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El, Superman's (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities, and be the hero she was always meant to be.

Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents' help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret.

Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant. She works alongside her friend and IT technician Winn Schott and famous photgrapher James Olsen, who Grant just hired away from the Daily Planet to serve as her new art director. However, Kara's days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret ageny where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime.

*My Thoughts*

Well, life goes on in National City, but the past can also catch up to the present. Hmmm...speaking of which, Winn's father comes back into his life. But wait...he's a supervillain!?! Whoa! Guess we found out more about Winn, other than him being in love with Kara. I also found Winn's character is even more complex than I thought. He's not the only either that has to deal with what has happened to them in the past. Looks like Hank Henshaw/J'onn J'onzz also battles with it as well, especially when asked to use his Martian abilities. Hence, they face difficult decisions that they have to make which will have its consequences.

Now, seriously, what is Maxwell Lord up to!?! What they find in Room 52 at Lord Technologies!?! While Alex spends time to distract him, Hank investigates what Max is hiding. As the charade continues between the two, the DEO and Max find out about a secret they each are keeping. In this case, what Maxwell finds out is ammunition he just may use to his advantage. Max is beginning to scare me...lol! He's very manipulative...hmmm.

Looks like a lot will change with these CatCo co-workers. Some may be good, but some may be awkward. Looks like Lucy will be joining the others working for CatCo. James gives off mixed vibes about that. Kara and Winn's relationship becomes strained after he kisses her. Oh my! Of course, Kara continues to pine over James.

This episode has a lot of depth from beginning to end. These characters had to deal with, not only with their past, their own demons after traumatic incidences that happened in their life. This episode revealed how these characters dealt with the situations they were faced with.

"Childish Things" was definitely an emotional episode on Supergirl. It clearly tugged at the heart. I am looking forward to watching the next episode!
